His middle name will be somewhat different: Danger. For a girl I am leaning towards a classic name like Olivia or Ava. Her middle name will either by my sister's middle name (Nastassja) or my grandmother's name (Miyo). It was easier to come up with a boy's name because I am more particular about girls' names. I like names that begin with an L or have a double L in them. And then we decided if we had a girl she would have daddy's initials and a boy would have mommy's initials.</p> <p>Jazz has a special meaning in our lives because the first words my husband ever said to me were, "Do you like jazz?" so we're naming our daughter Billie Evelyn J. (Billie Holiday). We also want names that are 95% obvious as to the gender. Like Matthew for a boy or Jennifer for a girl. My #1 choice is DH's middle name, modified (Evan instead of Evans) which was also his dad's middle name, and his grandmother's maiden name. We finally agreed that if I got another 4D ultrasound that I would narrow it down to 2-3 names. </p> <p>We started with post-it notes on the inside of the front door and started ranking them and narrowing them down to a shorter list. </p> <p>His middle name is a family name, first name we wanted something we liked but that wasn't super common, no real inspiration other than it fits and is from one of our favorite John Hughes movies. He died at 102, still living independently) - but I had a psycho ex with the same legal name, so I had to use it for a girl.<br /> Grace is a family name on his side (his paternal grandma's name).<br /> Alexander is a name he thinks is awesome (Alexander the Great!).<br /> Ray is my paternal grandpa's name (he was such a good guy that both my brother and I are using it as a middle name.)<br /> Secondary names are:<br /> David James (he likes the name David, which is my dad's middle name.
