We didn't do the 3 day method either. Instead, we put on underwear and went to the bathroom at timed intervals. Every 10 minutes, whatever. Our daycare at the time was extremely supportive, I had a long talk with the director and she actually encouraged the process along.

Daycare helped us out, but I did the 3 day over Thanksgiving break and it worked great. Before that we were still in pull ups but we took her frequently and she was telling us when she had to go, so we knew she was ready.

Daycare actually suggested we try to potty train. We did the 3 day method when he was 2.5 (and it was successful) and I took his potty chair to school that week. I sent him in underwear and they really encouraged him to go to the potty. I think he only had 2 accidents at school the first week!

My LO only goes to daycare part-time but in the fall when she switches to the 2's room, I know they work on potty training there. I am going to ask them what they do so what we do at home is not completely opposite.

Our daycare started LO at 2 years old or so by going potty every hour until he got the hang of it. Him being day trained made the transition to his new daycare/preschool a lot easier. With our next LO, I want to start at 2 years old because it was great. We'll probably be in a different neighborhood/suburb, but hope to find an equally supportive daycare as our previous one about it.

Our daycare initiates at 2.5 if you don't request earlier. They suggest you initially send them in pull-ups and they'll take them every 1.5-2 hrs.. If I were home with DS I'd probably do the 3-day method but just given how much he listens to his teachers and wants to be like the bigger kids, I nearly think he'll do better if dcp initiates.

I'm anxious to start with DS because I'm also sososo sick of diapers, more specifically diaper-changing tantrums. DS doesn't have any of the readiness signs you read about so we're waiting it out a little longer.

Our day care does it, starting at 2.5. They have to wear pull-ups and take the kids to the potty every 1.5 hours. We've been very informal at home, just having him go before bath and whenever he asks, but once he moves into that classroom, we'll probably try to encourage it at home more.

I waited until LO expressed being ready….but really, daycare is doing the heavy lifting! I’d ask your daycare because I know some are more ahem, helpful, than others. Mine will do whatever you want – straight to undies, pull-ups, filling out reward charts, whatever you do, they will do.

We’re currently doing pull-ups, as they said that LO will use the potty at school, but is not as “excited” about it as she is at home. I’m thinking about doing pull-ups for a couple of weeks and then going to underwear.

They are working on it at daycare with him. And then we work on it in the evenings and on weekends. It's been taking what feels like forever. He is 2.5 (I think a little older than your daughter). I'm hoping he will be done by 3 since we want him to go to a new preschool that charges extra for kids not potty trained. Good incentive!

I had a three day weekend and I asked her every 15 minutes if she needed to go the first day. She had 2 pee accidents and then she just got it. I gave her a sticker and an m&m each time she went for 2 days then she forgot about the incentive and she's been day and night trained ever since!

LO is almost 2.5 and I'm sick of buying diapers ;)

How did you accomplish potty training if LO was in school full time? I'm thinking about reaching out to her teacher to set up a game plan together. I'm not interested in doing the 3 day method, but if it is the best option I can reconsider.

Her current room ends at age 3 ish and she can't graduate into the next one until she is both age 3 and potty trained.
