We are doing a small photoshoot where my husband and I are holding gold balloons that say BABY and one pink or blue balloon. We are making them into announcements and mailing them out. No one has a CLUE we're expecting. Logistically, it would have been hard to do it from across the country. I would have had to mail the envelope to the bakery and then wait to do the reveal until my family could pick up the cupcakes. Plus, it's Mother's Day and I don't know what everyone's plans are this weekend. Lastly, I'm not sure if they wanted to find out by cupcake. It was mainly for me and I might have caused a hassle to involve others. </p> <p>I was able to do a cake reveal for just me and the DH. So I'm happy. We actually knew, rather than having it in an envelope for the baker, so my mom was apparently upset that we didn't tell her first. That was why we had the cake! But one warning- pay attention to the guests! (No formal party, just whenever.) Since I'm on the west coast and most of my family and friends on the east coast, I'm going to call and I'll pay for a local bakery to make cupcakes. They'll take them home and we'll call them and maybe they can do a facetime or a skype so I can see their reactions.</p> <p>I think it's a cute idea that allows our loved ones to be included in this special moment. It won't be a big ordeal. My parents, inlaws and my siblings. Maybe some close friends if they want to participate.</p> <p>ETA: Pre-pregnancy, I wanted to do the reveal at the baby shower, but having twins changed that idea. I'll be revealing the gender about 2 months before the shower. </p>
