I registered for the same stuff at BRU and BBB. Then I just took it off at one if bought at the other. I did end up with two high chairs but I just returned one. That was the only double we got.

@T.H.O.U.: See I would register for the larger gift set of bottles, because that is something someone would buy. Then I would buy the individual bottle myself. Then if baby doesn't like the bottle, return the gift set for the one that he does like.

There def are things that Target carries as their brand that I like over BRU brands. :) If I had to choose one I prefer Target.

@MrsTiz: Walmart has great prices! You can register for basics there and get the "cute" stuff from Target!
You're doing Dr Brown right?
http://www.target.com/p/dr-brown-s-newborn-bpa-free-feeding-gift-set/-/A-11198317#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=dr+brown+gift

@T.H.O.U.: thank you! crossed off the bottle warmer and added the other stuff.

I wonder if it would be better to do it at Wal-mart & BRU??Wal-mart is everywhere.. I just hate to put Wal-Mart on the invites lol!

@MrsTiz: I would do two. We did the same Target and BRU. We basically just put everything on both and I managed it manually marking them off. Like you said BRU is overpriced, and as a guest, I would probably look at the BRU registry and purchase from Target anways.

@MrsTiz: I would put basic toiletries on both (diapers, wipes, cremes, shampoo, etc). on both at a minimum but you can duplicate more.

Other comments on these standard lists.
- I wouldn't register for the larger bottle gift packs, just 2-3 brands of single bottles.
- I did purchase the Medela pumping gift set which gave me more to pump into which was great (well worth the $20).
- Bottle warmers are a waste, I would cross that off, warm with water if needed
- I would for sure register for small bowls and baby spoons but I would think about skipping sippy cups because they can be a pain to store. Like bottles, you most likely will need to wait and see what the child likes (straw, spout, etc).
- Pacifiers, NUK are great, but I would also grab a soothie (round ones). Also a paci clip.
- I would go less on the hooded towels (maybe 3-4) but more on the washcloths (we have like 15 and still seem to always need more). They outgrow the towels but not the washcloths

I guess I never thought about only having one..it seems like every shower (bridal/baby) i've been to has had 2 registries...it makes sense to only do it at BRU though!

@MrsTiz: Gotcha. I don't think there is anything that Target would have that BRU wouldn't have in-store (at least that has been my experience) but I think there is a lot in-store that BRU will have that Target won't. And if they're on the same road, one isn't more convenient than another. So it might be easiest for you to just register at BRU and save the hassle of having to split things.

I guess I don't get the point of why you'd split the registry, if you have a BRU near by?

I *wish* I could to Amazon but everyone we're inviting to our shower is old fashioned and don't use internet, so no one would even look at it. :(

Our target doesn't have anything really either, but the only options are BRU, Target and Wal-mart..no where else in town sells baby stuff!

Which starter set do you suggest? @regberadaisy:

is the list hard to read? I can upload it in chunks via cell phone pictures

@regberadaisy: i was getting a headache, so i gave up, but i was thinking maybe it was time for me to go get my reading glasses out (usually i don't need them in the morning though!)

i would agree putting them at the less $ store is better, but keeping in mind target can be a bear about returns & exchanges and people like to buy certain things together- so if you're gonna register for a bath tub at one place, i'd also put towels and bath items on the same one since most people would buy them as a set, does that make sense?

Things that seem to be missing:
swing, bouncer, full body snowsuit, car seat fleece muff like JJ Cole?, stroller, crib, car seat, other big ticket items?, mittens for scratching, NB hats for indoor, gripe water, teething tablets.
For bottles I reco registering for a starter set. They're a great deal and a good way to start in case LO doesn't like the specific bottles you get.
Did I miss any pumping/BFing stuff if you're planning to? ie milk bags, nursing pads.
A cooler bag for when you're out and about.
BIBS! Lots of bibs in different sizes.

ETA: Same as ^ Target store doesn't have a ton but their website is pretty awesome. BRU I find pricey. We did Target + Amazon and it worked out really nicely bc I could add items from other websites to Amazon. But we did brick & mortar + online for the wedding and knew people would buy online.

Have you been to the Target to check out the baby section? Targets usually only have a few aisles of baby things. A lot of their stuff is only available online, which sucks. I was originally planning to register at BRU and Target also, but decided against Target because of the limited selection. My co-worker registered at Target and I ended up just getting her a gift card because they had nothing from her registry in-store.

If you really want to register at Target, I would go there first and basically register for anything on your list that they have in-store. They will have changing pads, diaper genie, pacifiers, bumbo. The clothes selection should also be decent. I would register for whatever they don't have at Target at BRU. We ended up doing Amazon instead of Target because neither Target nor BRU have a lot of the specialty stuff in-store--the "good" A+A blankets, boon grass, wubbanub, etc.

haha my first response will be whichever item is cheaper at each store is how I will split it! You can start your Target one online! And also add Target online items too. :)

I'll look through your list now...it's so blurry! :P

I'm going to register this weekend and we're planning on registering at BRU and Target. The stores are on the same road, so if people are going to buy something on the registry for us it's the same distance to either store, basically.

How would you split this?
(PLEASE feel free to let me know what i'm missing also, this is my janky guide i'll be using)

If you can't tell, I'm like the mega FTM and have no clue what i'm doing lol!
