@skipra: boy do I hear you on summer pregnancies and current littles wanting to be carried. DD2 has always been fiercely independent and very physically capable but recently (she's 26 months) she has started insisting that all sorts if things scare her and she "can't" do things on her own. The most frustrating is her frequent insistence on bring carried up the stairs (from the front door/yard/bedrooms to our main living level). She stood at the bottom and tantrums for about 20 mins yesterday until DH came home from work and took pity on her.

I think it was manageable because I worked FT and I had time to nap/have downtime before daycare/preschool pu.

Each of my three pregnancies has been easy but less restful! With the first one, I clearly slept in and napped as much/often as I wanted or needed. With the second one, DD1 was still napping and/or at school...and she has never been a very early riser. This time around, DD2 gets up earlier so I am consistently getting up earlier than I'd like. But she takes 2.5+ HR naps each afternoon, and I make DD1 do "quiet time" in her room to overlap with that. So I can steal a nap in that timespan if I need. I also go to bed early!

Try to avoid being hugely pregnant in the summer! The hardest things for me are that LO2 still wants to be carried around which hurts my back and not only is it too hot to take both kids for long walks, pushing 2 in a double stroller also kills my back. I think if your kids are older you can avoid both those problems. The only crappy trade off is if you don't have a consistent break for naps. When LO1 refuses to nap I will either let him snuggle with me on the couch while I nap or just make him play in his room quietly.

When I'm feeling fine, I honestly pretty much forget I'm pregnant because I'm so absorbed in caring for DDs (2 and 4). As I get further along, it's trickier - I'm tired and don't get a chance to rest, and it's hard to keep up with the girls for sure! But I haven't been sick, and in spite of some scares following the anatomy scan I'm healthy, as is the baby, so I really can't ask forire! Luckily I have supportive and generous friends and family who help when they can - I don't know how I'd do it otherwise!

My third was my easiest. Until the last month when I was super sick and carrying the most enormous uncomfortably huge baby.

I'd occasionally get a nap in. I'd set L up with a couple episodes of Paw Patrol and have her sit in my nest (in between my legs) on the couch. If she moved I'd feel her and 8/10 she'd fall asleep too.

I think it depends on the pregnancy. All of mine were easy *knock on wood for possible future* so it wasn't much different. I am not a napper though. Plus my children are good sleepers (again knock on wood) so I was able to get enough downtime at night and sleep.

When I was pregnant with my second, my older was 1.5-2. I could nap when she did, veg while she played..

I don't see a third pregnancy being at all restful. Ha! Is it as bad as it seems like it would be?

I am not pregnant. Just nosy😋
