We were in the same situation with Olive. We let her sit on the potty with the iPad and had her drink tons of juice. She was on there for like an hour but when she finally peed it clicked for her!

How about first thing in the morning. We always just waited till they went and cheered. But first thing in the morning usually got the most results for is early on.

I was just coming to ask the same thing. DD is 26 months old (I only refer to her age in months online, haha) but she is awesome at holding her pee. She will stop playing to tell me she has to go potty. But, will not pee in the potty. I give her more time, candy, ipad time...nothing works. I end up putting a diaper on her after a failed attempt and sure enough two minutes later she's peed. I think she's ready but can't get her to go :/

We were in the almost exact same situation just a couple of months ago. Putting my LO on the potty morning, night, bath time etc resulted in no pee for over 8 mths. What eventually worked was letting her go butt naked all day, pushed fluids and just let her sit on the potty for as long as she is willing. The first 3 days were rough, she would hold in her pee (for >6 hrs) and either had an accident or pee in her pullup at nap time. Then on day 4, she managed to have one successful pee in the toilet after sitting on it for almost an hr. It took us over a week of nakedness to get pee out of her consistently. This happened just 3 weeks before she turned 3 yrs old. Good luck!

We are struggling with the same thing! We have tried running water, hand in warm water, saying "shhhh" and asking her to tell the pee pee to come out. But we don't usually get anything!!!!

I really want to know the answer to this myself. My DD loves sitting on the potty, pulling down pants, flushing, etc., but she never ever ever actually pees. I don't even think she knows she's supposed to do that. She will sometimes say "Peeeeee," but that's it.

We heard daycare telling the kids to push the pee-pees down so we say that to DS. I put that one in the things I never thought I would ever say in my lifetime.

We counted he had I sit and count to 10. It takes their minds off the peeing and at the very least his counting gets better.

LO just turned 3 and shows every sign of readiness and has for a long time. She stays dry even overnight, can verbalize when she needs to go, plays pretend potty, you name it. Is excited about pull ups and panties. But every time she tries to tinkle - nada. Over months and months she has succeeded about twice. I haven't pushed it, but often she refuses to try (so I let it go), I think because she's discouraged. I really think if we could get over the hump she'd train pretty quickly. She seems so interested in it and I just want to help. Any ideas??
