So, instead of waiting and testing again like a sane person, I dragged him into the bathroom (the house was full of people), and made him examine it with me. He didn't believe it though, until I took a digital test. On the Friday I had the very faintest line on a Wondfo, like I could barely see it, so I called him into the bathroom like, um, babe, do you see something? He saw it but said it didn't count since it was so light. I dipped another wondfo in the same cup of pee and had the same super faint but within 5 minute result. He said it didn't count so we would test tomorrow-- and I actually waited! The next morning I woke up and did a wondfo, dollar store, and FRER (overkill??), got all positives, and crawled back into bed and asked him if he was ready to be a dad. He sleepily said, Really?? Awesome, and we pretty much went back to sleep. Or, he did, while I laid there too giddy to sleep. I actually just found the ziploc with all my positive tests and couldn't bear to throw it out because it brought back all those excited fun memories. Almost 22 weeks now. I went and puked at the very start of the night (not the first time) & finally went to buy a preggo test. Went home sick, took it, and when it turned positive I texted him a photo. At 5am I went and got him on his break and basically threw it at him while we discussed what the eff to do now (we weren't particularly trying). So I was in the bathroom with the door open (so romantic we are) while he changed out of his work clothes. The lines went dark immediately and I started squealing. He took a photo of the stick and calmly said we'd test again in exactly a week (I wanted to pee on all the sticks right then, but he's more rational). I had mentioned earlier that my breasts were tender and he said I was pregnant. It was the day AF was expected so I didn't really think much of it, but thought I would POAS just in case. Sure enough he was right and I got a BFP! We went out and got digital tests together after I told him to confirm. Next time around I want to do it completely differently if I can stand to keep my mouth shut. I think I want to order DS a shirt from etsy that says something about "big brother" and the month/season I would be due. But I'm not sure I could keep it from DH long enough for the shirt to come haha. Then the next morning, I woke up at 4:30 (after tossing and turning for hours) to pee on a FRER and it was positive in less than a minute. I let him sleep until 4:45, and then I woke him up. I had to go grocery shopping, so while I was out I picked up one of those Baby on Board signs and taped it in the shower because I knew he would go straight for the shower when he got home. He did. The day I got the BFP I ran an "errand" to the grocery store and picked up a little onesie. I wrapped the positive test and the onesie in an empty shoebox I found lying around the house and told DH that while I was at the grocery (it was one of the those mega grocery/home goods/clothing things) I found some shoes on sale I thought he'd like. He opened up the box to find the onesie and the test. He was so confused--the line was so faint he thought I was giving him a negative test! When I explained that it was positive his eyes welled up and we had to hold it together while we ate lunch with my grandmother, all the while looking at each other with wide eyes. I peed on it WRONG and nothing happened, so she had me pee on it again and it showed positive. She knew before DH! I don't remember how I told him, but it was probably over the phone. With DS, (second pregnancy) I had a feeling I was pregnant and had bought the store brand pregnancy tests, and we stared at that sucker for so long! Baby #2 - I tested while he was at work since I *knew* I wasn't pregnant but had to rule it out since I was five days late. Jokes on me, I have no idea when I ovulate. When he came home from work (he just worked a couple hours on a Saturday) I asked if he wanted to go to the local Mexican joint (where we celebrated baby #1) then I gave him the pee stick and immediately sat down since I hadn't stopped shaking in two hours. Then he made me go test again. Haha. I wish I had a better way to tell him but I was in serious shock and confusion.
