Not exactly the same, because I did nurse well past a year, but I just started offering her milk at meals, in addition to still nursing. She had started refusing bottles of expressed breastmilk so we tried it in a straw cup and she preferred that already. Since she was still nursing and ate so much cheese and yogurt, I've never worried about the amount of cows milk that she drank. She just very gradually started drinking more and more at meals, especially as she stopped nursing as much.

If you can, definitely start offering breastmilk in your preferred cup during meals to see if he'll take it. If he does, that's awesome! We had a super hard time getting LO to take anything other than water from a sippy (or straw cup) at meals. I think we just introduced it way too late. So even now at 3, he drinks no WCM. It's all water or water with a splash of juice/lemonade. He gets his calcium from cheese and he looooves yogurt.

Once you get him to drink breastmilk from a cup, you can then start the slow transition to WCM within his cup. Mix a quarter at a time until it's all WCM when you're ready to completely wean.

R is 9 months, 1 week. He's EBF but gets one bottle of pumped milk a day (and now that I'm back to work PT, sometimes 2 bottles a day when I work...I WAH). He's backed off of nursing quite a bit over the past month. He devours solids - 3 full meals a day plus at least one snack.

So, how do I go from the tap to WCM in a few months? I don't really have any interest in nursing beyond a year and want to figure out my exit strategy. Should I start offering breastmilk with meals at some point at like 10 months? And then just start nursing morning and night? He drinks water from the Zoli really well but we haven't tried anything else.
