Our one cat was so upset about the baby that she kept peeing on our bed to show her disapproval. It was so irritating to be exhausted with a newborn and have to clean cat pee off the bed constantly the first couple days! Then they just completely ignored her (to the point where they would just sit on her if they wanted to sit on my lap!) We put a stop to that, and once she got mobile, they started hiding from her. Now, the cat lets our daughter pet her occasionally and my daughter is OBSESSED with the cat. But the cat is so needy after my daughter is asleep it just jumps on my lap and wants to be petted forever, and then sleeps cuddled up on my husband or myself every night.
