My friends/family are all over the map. Anything from 12 months to 15 years! The average is probably about 4 years, we are hoping to be around 2 1/2 years.

I only have 2 friends that have more than one child right now and their kids are 1-2 years apart. The rest of our friends either just had baby #1 in the past year or are expecting right now as well!

It depends...some are super close--Irish twin close, but then others are expecting/newborn and have a 4-5 year old sibling.

I kind of like having them spaced, where initially I wanted them close. It seems like having a 4-5 year old helper around the house would be awesome!

Most of my friends that have more than one child had them 2-3 years apart. I think one had her second 4 years later. My BFF SIL had her girls 4 and a half years apart (both planned).

We're the only ones with an LO! Actually, we do have friends who have a toddler son (3.5 years old) but she got pregnant by accident when engaged (hate using the term "knocked up") and they are now married but in no financial position to have another baby just yet.

I hope to have #2 by the time LO is around 2, 2.5 years old.

One set is 5 years apart, and the other set is 4 years apart. Big gaps, IMO.

I'm hoping to space by 2-3 years, but I'll be 32 when we have our first, so I'll just have to be OK with having just one in the event that it becomes more difficult for us later on :) We can't afford two young kids in daycare so I'd like the first to be as old as possible before trying for a second. And at the very least, potty trained.

Most of my friends are in 1.5-3 years range. I was the first to have another baby out of all of my local mommy friends I met after I had DD, but all of them that want more are either pregnant or TTC right now, so they'll catch up with us very soon!

Most of us are 20 months to 3 years, which I think is pretty ideal. I have one friend with "twin" boys exactly 11 months apart. I think it was really tough for them, but now that they are getting a little older (1 and 2) it's a little easier.

Most of my friends with kids had them close to 2 years apart, just like we did with Charlie and Olive (22 months apart).

How did your friends space their kids? Has it affected how you want to space your kids apart?
