My 9 month old has been sharing a room with my 5 year old for about three months now. They usually don't wake each other up. But if my little one is having a rough night I usually just send my older one to my bed and I sleep in his bed. Not ideal but I know it's not going to last forever.

Honestly, mine started at 2 weeks and 28 months. I just fed her in their room when she woke. He doesn't wake her and her cries in the middle of the night never woke him. His toys are all in the living room, so for naps and other items, we just close the door to their room. If he needs to nap, he does so in our bed.

i moved lo2 from a bassinet in our room to a crib in a shared room with lo1 when 2 was 6 months and 1 was a few months past 3. it was time because she was outgrowing the bassinet and also dh was out of town, so i had to do their overlapping bed times together. it’s worked really well! they don’t wake each other all that often, less than i worried they would!

Probably not helpful but ours started when we had guests and I needed DD (4yo) to sleep on the futon in DS's (2yo) room. Six months later she's still on the futon.

Posting to Follow. ;) DS (almost 3) and DD (7 months) will be sharing soon, I'm holding off more because I'm afraid he'll smother her MOTN since he's a cuddler. She's in a p&p in our room for now.

Obviously I'd love to upgrade to a 3 bedroom, our 850 sq ft apt seems soooo small with two kids, but I am saving so much by staying in the small apt!

That means that I need my kids to share a room. So now that I've spoiled my 6 month old by letting her sleep in my bed and basically eat whenever she wants, I want her sleeping in the crib, in the room with her toddler brother, ideally all night long haha.

So how did your transitions to room-sharing work?
