DD was in physical therapy for torticollis and that was the position her PT would put her in to encourage her to sit, so I just figured that's how all kids do it? She would roll onto her side and push herself up with her hands or by pulling on something solid nearby (like crib bars). J seems like he's trying to get there by doing down dog and letting his butt fall to one side. He ends up propped up on one elbow on his side. Is that ever going to work? I tried it and it seemed pretty awkward. So how did your LO get into sit?
