My son's 4mo shots are next week, and I'm dreading them! It's my first week back at work, and I'm starting with parttime for a couple weeks before really being back fulltime. He'll have his 3rd day of daycare the day after his shots. Definitely worried about his reaction and sleep and fussiness especially since his caregivers will barely know him. Eek. I'm glad your LO is ok now.

This is why we're doing an alternative schedule! Because I'm too much of a wimp to deal with reactions like that. She did fine with her first half of the 4 month shots, and will get the second half next week. The second half is what we had problems with last time (24 hour head cold?), so we'll see what this round will hold.

@krsmall: I should have mentioned, she's back to her happy self again this morning. She had her shots in the morning so maybe it took 24 hours to feel better?

Our LO was fine the day of the shot but the next day was rough, I'm not sure if it is because it was his first day of daycare or the shots. He got a fever of 99 and didn't nap, so by the time it got to 1 p.m. he was inconsolable because he was so tired. His teacher is great and walked him up and down the halls until he fell asleep. After he got a nap he was much happier and he had no temperature.

Oh my gosh, your poor LO! :-( Her shots made her whimper and cry a little but that was about it.

I had heard the 4 month shots were worse than the 2 month shots but I was unprepared for what we went through yesterday. First, when she got her shots, she bled, a lot. I knew the area would probably hurt her for a while since she bled so much. My husband drove her to daycare and dropped her off while she was napping in the carseat. Apparently she slept for an hour and then all hell broke loose. She cried, inconsolably for hours. They tried everything - passing her off to different teachers, bouncing, swinging, going outside, diaper change and bottles. Nothing helped. Anytime someone got near her leg, she screamed harder. Daycare called me around 2pm to let me know what was going on. They try not to call unless something seems really wrong and this was really odd for our babe.

I went to get her and she had fallen asleep in a bouncy chair. The ladies were all apologetic for calling me but said they were so worried about her. She didn't have a fever or anything, thankfully. I got her into her carseat, woke her up and she screamed when I moved her. :( That was pretty much how it went all afternoon/evening until she went to bed for the night. She would scream if you moved her or if she moved the leg but she was okay if she wasn't moving. She finally conked out at 6pm and slept until 1am, then slept until 5:30.

So....our 4 month shots didn't go great. How did your lo's go?
