Or maybe work, I dunno) and was working for a company fixing TV's. He went to my Grandparents house and my mom was there and she told my Grandpa that night that that was the man she's going to marry some day. So dad had to go over there a few more times (he said their tv had no chance - it was way too broken/old/whatever, but went back anyway) and mom wouldn't leave him alone until dad asked her out. LOL so he did, and like a year later they got married and had my sister. They've been married for 32 years (almost 33) now :)</p> <p>SO and I met through friends. I was dating someone else at the time and we became good friends. Two and a half years or so later we started dating. My dad's little sister was my mom's BFF. My parents never dated until they were out of college and working, though. My dad ran into my mom's brother, and it just got him thinking about her. So, he called her and ask her out. She said she needed a rain check. They finally went out and my dad proposed on THE SECOND DATE! Crazy! I shared a house with his best friend from middle school (he sang at our wedding and his fiancee was my MOH!). DH had recently-ish gone through a bad breakup, and decided he needed a fresh start in a new city, and we had a spare bedroom. </p> <p>DH's parents met the day MIL was born! Their fathers were both in the Air Force, and were sometimes stationed together, and they and their wives became life-long best friends. They were stationed together when MIL was born, and FIL's parents took him to the hospital to meet the new baby. DH's parents met because they lived across from each other in an apartment complex. The quick version (I think we had this same thread a long time ago where I typed it all out) is: they met while vacationing on an island in Korea, both with friends, and my dad serenaded my mom under her balcony window. My mom left with her friends but came back alone to hang with my dad for one more day. They became friends but didn't date, then my dad's mom burned her arm and refused to go to the doctor. My mom came to take care of her daily because she was a nursing student. Then while eating dinner together one day my dad was talking about how he had a student visa to go to the US, and my mom mentioned that her friend's boyfriend had one too, so they got married so she could go with him. My dad said "let's do that!" She said he was crazy. Then her mom convinced her to do it. They got married quickly and came to the US together. They weren't even dating when he "proposed"!</p> <p>Wagon Sr. and I met during college. My acappella group went to his school for a big concert (Gospel Jam) and we met there sophomore year. His younger brother went to my school and told me to look for him.
