What did/do you use to scrub? We have a flat top range so I use a razor blade tool to scrape. That would probably work in your situation depending on the material finish.

OMG I'm sorry.

I also recommend Barkeeper's Friend. that gets off everything.

Also, try Easy Off oven spray, fume free. You can get it at target or Walmart. Spray on a very liberal coating tonight and leave it on overnight (or maybe even into tmrw morning). I find that it gets off the most stubborn burnt in foods and liquids.
Good luck and let us know what worked!!

Baking soda paste. Let it mostly dry then buff it off. And make dh do it! He made the mess! Or he can buy you a new stove. And tell him to get a camping burner for his home brew so he can do it outside. The homebrew supply stores have burners just for this!

Krud Kutter, you can get it at home depot. That gets off dried on paint, so I have mixed feelings using it on a surface you're going to have near food.

Ah I am so sorry! I'm not sure about this exact scenario, but I swear by tea tree oil! It seriously is magic with getting off sticker residue, grease, tree sap, gum... It's awesome.

My first try would be Bon Ami. I'd let it sit on the dampened surface for at least 15 minutes and then scrub to see if its able to get anything up.

Actually, I'd leave your husband home with these directions and go out for a pedicure or something.

My DH swears by barkeepers.

Also I would cover it in baking soda, make some soapy water in the sink, wet a towel in it, and let it soak there for 15 min. And then repeat.

@MrsH: I'll have to go out and get some hydrogen peroxide.

Yeah, he's on my shit list today. He made that mess yesterday, yelled at me when D fell down the stairs this morning, then slept on the coach while I scrubbed the stove. Mama ain't happy.

Hubs did a homebrew yesterday, and his pot boiled over. He proceeded to let it just boil and cook into the stove top for another 2-3 hours. The first picture is the immediate aftermath. The second picture is where I stand now - a thin layer of cooked-on nastiness. I've tried Formula 409, Method, a scratch-free scrubber, Weiman's gas stovetop heavy duty degreaser, and the ice scraper from my car (not even kidding). Anyone have any tips to share? I'm afraid my stove is ruined.
