My first son was like this and I just had to leave him. If the crying was bad, I would go back in and shhhh him and give him a kiss.

@Pumpkin Pie: it was just that one day. Are you doing checks? Maybe you can ask how they get her to sleep at daycare, and try to replicate it? Or just continue to do what you're doing- 30 minutes of nap isn't ideal but it's better than nothing? sorry I'm not much help.

@BabyTsMom: how many days of CIO did you have to do? Today she cried for 30 mins, fell asleep for 30, cried for 30, fell asleep for another 30.

Not exactly the same thing, but LO got sick around 18 months and his naps went to hell for a few days. I got sick of it, so once I knew he was healthy enough, I let him CIO. It was rough....I didn't do any checks and he cried for an entire hour the first day (and didn't nap, because I got him after that hour).

Oh. We originally trained in infancy, but have had to retrain several times after illnesses and traveling and cosleeeping stints. This worked at every age. I mean it sucks. But it works for many kids.

We did timed checks. So put in crib, walk out. Wait 3 minutes, walk in with a smile and say a cheerful "night night time" and walk out. Repeat at 5 minutes. Repeat at 7 minutes. Repeat at 10 minutes. Repeat at 10 minutes. Repeat at 10 minutes...until baby has napped or 90 minutes has passed.

Daycare says she goes down for naps pretty easily, and sleeps 1.5-2 hours. On the weekends, I just can't seem to get her to nap, and I don't know why! She goes into her sleep sack and crib just fine, but she will not let me leave the room, and just cries. How do I nap train her? Has anyone had success nap training a toddler?

Bed time is totally fine.
