Sun! It works wonders. Just put your diapers out in the sun with the stained side face-up to dry. The stains will be gone before you know it.

Granted we just started with CD a couple days ago but we've been using fleece liners and spraying with bac out the poop diapers before putting them in a wet bag. We did a cold wash and then a hot one and they look fine. We had one that still had maybe some meconium poop leftovers that we had to soak with the onesie she blew out in but they both look fine now. And that was a crazy poop because she hadn't pooped in 24 hours at 2 days old.

For most diapers, they don't recommend that you pre-soak them. I just throw everything in the same pail. I only sun when they get really bad - it's not like somebody is going to inspect the inside of the diaper!

Just do a cold rinse before your hot wash and you should be okay.

I just toss them into the diaper pail and wash normally (twice a week or so). I do sun all of our diapers pretty much every time-- we live in southern California so we have a lot of sunny days.

I've never used Bac-Out and I'm scared they'll damage the diapers, even though I see a lot of people using it!

No staining yet we've been doing for 3 months. I just use liners. They work great!

We use liners so there isn't any poo really sitting on the diapers. I just put in my wet bag and wash later. I live in Florida and still never sun.

If it's bad I'll spray a little Bac-Out on them before putting them in the pail. Otherwise I just wash them like normal and sun them if necessary. Poop stains don't have an effect on the usefulness of the diapers, but they do make them look less pretty :) FWIW, once we started solids, I started using fleece liners in LO's diapers. They're much easier to get clean.

ETA: You don't have to rinse BM poop.

Do you rinse off breastmilk poos before storing?

I think sunning just means laying them out in the sun so the sun can bleach out the stains.

I have mostly BG Elementals and Swaddlebees AIOs, both cotton, and they seemed to stain before I did the wet pail...

I'm actually amazed at how little staining I have....because I'm not too good about washing them as frequently as they should be. (Let's just say that I did a load the other day that was probably like two or three weeks old, SUPER gross I know but we were using disposables) and I didn't see much staining at all if any! I just store them in a wet bag after they get rinsed off in the toilet. I don't treat and I have no idea what "sunning" my diapers means hahaha

I don't treat or soak and I wash regularly. I sun them every 2-3 months? I only get stains on my cotton diapers...BG Elementals and Grovia snap in pads.

Do you pre-treat with bac-out or another stain fighter?

Do you pre-soak in a pail?

Or do you just put it in a wet bag and wash like pee soaked diapers? If you use this method, do you end up sunning the diapers?

If you sun your diapers, how often do you do it?

I've been putting poopy diapers in a pail of water for 1-2 days until I was them, but my DH feels it's super gross and needs to stop. So I'm wondering if I can just store them in a wet bag if they will get clean, or if I need to do something else to prevent stains? Thanks!
