Well..... I have a cleaning lady which helps with the house work. I'm a SAHM so I don't have to deal with a job. And I have my parents and DH's parents close by so we're able to get date nights in at least once a month, usually more. We're spoiled :)

Our house is not tidy and it takes days to fold laundry. We just moved and I have no idea how to make friends- if I did- I think it would be worse.

There is no way to be perfect. In an ideal world- we'd have a housekeeper twice a month!!

I don't!

My sanity and time to myself is more important to me that preparing meals and keeping house. And time with DH. However we usually do things together that need to be done - like cleaning and cooking. It's a joint activity.

I try to get stuff done during the day but I'm so tired I either lay in bed/nap, or HB. I do minimal amounts of work. It's really awful, I lack motivation.

I manage with two kids and being a SAHM. I guess I just figured it out eventually. Just takes a lot of planning the night before for me. And I try to have everything ready the night before so all I have to do in the morning is grab and go b/c getting a toddler brushed, dressed, and fed in the morning is A LOT more work. LOL! Then I have my little one who just needs a diaper change and fed.

It's definitely tough and I couldn't do it without the help of my husband. The house is not as neat as it could be, the laundry stays in the dryer more times than I'd like, and DH and I don't have as much time as we used to. But we've really made an effort to help each other out so that things get done and we have time at the end of each day to spend with one another.

We also have lots of help from family and friends wanting to watch DD, so we try to go out at least once a month for at least a few hours and spend time with just the two of us. The agreement is that he will watch her and take care of everything she needs while I'm getting ready and then I do the same for him.

For the day to day things, I try to streamline as much as possible. As soon as I get home, DD is usually still asleep so I bring her car seat into her room and let her nap. Then I take all the bottles and get them soaking. I unpack my gym bag and repack it for the next day. If I need to, I'll start a load of laundry, too.

Once she gets up from her nap, I feed her while DH gets dinner ready. Then we eat and one of us will give her a bath, bottle and put her to bed. We have about an hour or two after she goes to bed to ourselves and we usually just cuddle on the couch and watch TV. It's not nearly the amount of time that we had before we had DD, but it's still quality time.

It takes some time, but you'll find your groove - I promise!

Agree with @honeybee. You can't give everything 100% all the time. Sometimes my job has to slide for a week and then I catch up the following week. Sometimes DD will get a sandwich for dinner and not a hot meal. And self-care goes out the window a lot. My gym membership has been a total waste lately.

I don't!

I hope to learn how to do this soon. Our apartment is a wreck (we just moved and are too tired to unpack after work), DH and I haven't had a date night in ages, and I don't really have a life outside of work and home with baby (although right now I'm totally fine with the home with baby part since I work full-time and have mommy guilt).

I'd like to learn how other women find balance or at what age their LOs were when they felt like they hit a good groove with having a life outside of work and kids.

You might find it gets easier around the one year mark. Once your LO starts walking/talking/becoming more independent, you'll get a little more of a break.

Honestly, nobody is able to do everything. We all have areas we let slide. For me, it's probably housecleaning and cooking. Our house is never as clean as I would like it, and most nights I have to use some cooking cheats to get food on the table. I know we could be eating better/healthier, I know we could have a cleaner house, but I've got to let some things slide so I can concentrate on other areas (like the kids, my husband, my schoolwork, etc...).

I'll also say that neither DH nor I get personal time, like ever. So self-care is another area that we pretty much ignore so we can spend that time and effort on other things.

LO is 6 months old, and most days I still feel like there's just not enough hours in the day to do everything. How do you balance being a good mom, your marriage, house work, your job, and life? My husband says he feels like I don't have enough time for him anymore, and I hate that. But, at the same time, I feel like he doesn't really see all that I have to try to fit into a day....
