For high pesticide fruits I always get organic (berries, apples), for everything else just rinse under water.

I used a veggie wash when I was preganant (because I was paranoid!) and I still use it on watermelons before slicing up.

@JessKas: Thank goodness I'm not alone!! Oh yeah, I forgot that I do grapes too, I just don't get them very often. They have a weird film on them...

@swurlygurl: I don't either. Except grapes. I ALWAYS clean grapes for some weird reason. Just with water.

Hard fruits I just wash with a drop of dish soap. I read something once where it said that regular dish soap did as good of a job as the special sprays so I've done that ever since. I've heard the vinegar thing works as well - I just don't usually have time to soak something for 15 minutes. So I try to buy organic berries as often as I can, since those are the most fragile to wash.

I actually scrub hard fruits and veggies with a soft mesh dish towel. I soak berries and soft fruits in vinegar water. The only things I don't clean are bananas, mushrooms and kiwis. Everything else gets washed. You just never know!

Am I seriously going to be the only person that says 'I don't'?!

I occasionally clean strawberries with a quick pass through water, but otherwise I don't typically wash my fruit

I use a fruit/veggie spray that I bought, but I'm going to try the water and vinegar trick when I run out! I have noticed a difference when I use the spray. It gets the whitish layer off of grapes and they really do taste way better.

I usually use this natural cleaner that has citric acid in it. It says to rub for 30 or so seconds and then rinse. You can really feel the difference on the fruit! You can also dilute it in a bowl for things that are harder to clean like lettuce or broccoli. I'm not saying I don't just use water sometimes...

I just use some fruit/veggie cleaner stuff I bought at Trader Joes. It's a liquid, I just pour a little on, and rinse it off. I don't know if that's all that effective, but so far I haven't had any issues.
