Before washing I would spray with the Dreft spray and I never had any staining whatsoever. Then wash in cold water with whatever laundry load we are doing and add oxyclean. Once all of the grossness is rinsed down the drain I just rinse the tub and throw the outfit in the washing machine. That's always worked.
