You can't submerge, soak, or use cleaners on the straps..... vinegar & water/wipes & the sun will be your best friend for those. As for the cover, just wash in the washer per the instructions. If the buckle got dirty the manual will tell you how it should be cleaned.

@Mrs. Confetti: We had luck by basically soaking the straps with antibacterial wipes over and over a few times, and keeping it out in the sun for a while. Sigh. Worst ever.

I think you can't submerge the straps, but a toothbrush cleans them well.

We had this issue while traveling on vacation. We just used baby wipes to wipe down the straps as best we could and then used lysol wipes once we got some.

I set it out side and hosed it off first. Then when I had extra hands, I took it apart and washed the cover.

i think on straps the only "allowed" way to clean them is with a mild soap and water. you can call the company and get their advice. i think they might even be willing to replace them if you can't get them clean.

Maybe you can try a professional cleaning service. I've used Clean Bee before and loved it. I don't know if they're located in other states (we're in SoCal) but there might be another similar company in your area? They wash and disinfect for you. And then will reinstall it back in!

If you saw my other post, you heard that C is officially fighting his first stomach bug. On our way to the grocery store for BRAT supplies and Gatorade, he vomited all over our car seat.

I have spot treated it as best I could with Lysol wipes, and have the windows down to air it out a bit, but I can't really tackle the cleaning til tonight when mr. confetti gets home and I have an extra set of hands.

It's a convertible Britax marathon.

How do I clean it?? A lot of the worst of it landed on the straps, which I don't think can safely be removed to wash.

Would love any advice...
