I wash the white base part and i'll run super hot water through the grass part a few times a week. I love the grass! More importantly, the grass definitely is way too small. The grass comes out of the white base. I scrub the base with Dapple detergent and then fill it wih vinegar, and put the grass back in to get any nasties off of the bottom. I let it sit for a bit while I do things, then fill the sink with a few inches of hot water, pour the vinegar from the base in, and put the grass part in there to disinfect between the blades. I do that maybe once a month. The grass stays remarkably clean.
