It pops off more easily when you go after it with a scrubber, even though it's not as easy as cleaning up the dust from the self-clean ones. I wait for a nice day when I can open the windows and air things out. In between self-cleanings I scrub with a scrubber sponge and elbow grease. Only because there was so much stuff in the bottom that it caught on fire while baking bread! Let me look into it quick, but seriously, you spray it on let it sit for a couple minutes and it wipes off. It has all natural ingredients too. I personally saw the demo at my SIL's house! The only thing that worked like a charm for me is that TERRIBLE spray-on oven cleaner with lye in it. The smell makes you choke but it makes it spotless in like 15 mins. I haven't cleaned it since we moved in last October and it's nasty... unfortunately ours doesn't have a self-clean feature and that's what I've always used before. I've read that using baking soda with water, vinegar and lemon is a natural way to clean it. I loooove the self cleaning feature. The way it works, is that it just raises the temp in the oven really really high! Well over normal cooking temperatures, that's why the door will lock when the self clean feature is on. Basically it just burns the stuff that is spilled on the bottom, and it turns the stuff to dust. When the self clean is done, all I do is take a damp paper towel and clean up the dust! I've never used the self-cleaning feature and didn't even know I had this feature until recently. I had always imagined that self-cleaning ovens involved built-in sprays and everything, but guess I was wrong! Hahaha. How do you clean your oven? Does the self-cleaning feature work for you?
