I use clorox wipes on one of them which doesn't look washable and on the other which has some cloth, I sometimes machine wash and/or clorox wipes.

I have the same changing pad as you. The two side flaps fold in and help protect some of the mat so it's not too bad.

For my PPB one, I toss it in the washing machine. Waterproof ones I just use wipes. But the dishwasher sounds like a good idea!

I'm a nutjob so I have two scenarios. I always have puppy pads so if a place is really gross I use that and just throw it away. For ok situations I use a mini waterproof pad, I think it's meant for on top of a changing table or in a play pen. It's all fabric and machine washable. I wash it every time I use it unless it was just like, on the bed at my parents house. I don't know the science of 'germ transfer' when you fold it up but the thought is enough to freak me out. I'm the same way with the shopping cart/restaurant high chair cover.

I don't have one. I use chux and throw them out when they're either dirty from a diaper change or been used in icky places.

I just use wipes on both sides and let it air dry.

@aegie: I do and I can't really explain it but it just works out that way. Or if anything, only a tiny piece might touch the outside part and it's not enough to worry me.

@MUI831: Do you use a Skip Hop Pronto or another changing pad? How do you fold a tri-fold without having it come in contact with the outside surface? Share!!

I've never cleaned it with anything other than a wipe. And the way I fold it, the part that I lay DS down on is on the inside and never comes in contact with any other icky surfaces other than DS. :)

I have the Skip Hop pronto changing pad. I'm a bit of an OCD freak so I throw it into the empty dishwasher to clean it while giving the dishwasher a cleaning at the same time. Does anyone else do this? Am I the only crazy one? If not, how do you clean the changing pad? Cause, the way I see it, I'm putting the changing pad down on a questionably clean surface and the way it closes the outside part comes in contact with the part that touches the baby. If you do clean it, how often do you clean it?

For what it's worth, my kid is almost 2 years old. This is a testament to my neurotic OCD-ness.
