@bluestriped bee: See my thread about Generational differences in the work place... I've had some recent experience with some differences in opinion that I'm attributing to generational differences.

Don't let that guy take advantage just because he's older!

@mrbee: English is a second language for him so some things don't come off as he intends. I think that's why I feel bad complaining about him to my boss or anyone else. He's, also, an older coworker who I think is set in his ways. I don't want to disrespect him so that's why I don't want to say anything.

It sounds like something that should be addressed so that you don't hate coming to work every day. But how to do that, I'm not sure. The protocol in my workplace is extreme passive aggression w/a side of gossip, but I don't recommend it.

Today a coworker came over and had a rather heated disagreement with me in front of my cubical. For my entire department to hear! Talk about awkward! I had to constantly tell him that we should discuss this as a group tomorrow. He.did.not.get.it! Then he threw me under the bus some more by involving someone else (from another group) to make me be in the wrong. So annoyed with him!! (By the way, he is in the wrong as we have been doing this procedure this way for years! He is just stubborn and difficult to work with! )

He is more senior than I am. He is smart and all but his work etiquette is lacking!

I haven't complained to my boss because I don't want to escalate any further. I'm not the only one bothered by him but we don't want to be those coworkers.

He is just so difficult and stubborn sometimes. I admit I can be stubborn, too, but I think he uses his seniority to belittle me.
