Oh my gosh yes! My MIL is baby obsessed and it is so annoying! We had the family over just for a normal brunch last weekend and she asked "is this a brunch to announce something or just a normal lunch?" in an annoying voice. ugh. And she is always making comments. We don't plan to TTC for about 9 more months so she has a long time to wait!!

This is why I haven't told anyone, sans the 3 people I know won't pester. I like @septca: answer, though! With my last GP dr (who I dropped) everytime she asked when I was going to get pregnant I told her "you'll know when I know."

Married for 3 years and we are in our early 30s. People ask all the time. Do you want kids?/ when are yiu giibg to have kids?/ are you trying?

To people not close to me I say when it happens it happens" and to people close to me "scheduling sex on the 2-3 days out of the month you can actually get pregnant is just not fun."

People really don't realize how rude and insensitive it is. I hope it is an older generation thing and people learn to filter what they say. I think the best thing to say is "we are struggling, but thanks for bringing it up". I dont see that being any less rude than what they are saying.

I hate dealing with the pressure from family- specifically my SIL. In august we were at a family bday party and I must have touched my stomach and I heard her tell her husband she was sure I was KU and to watch me. The next thing I did was get a big glass of white wine and down it in front of her!
Knowing she is watching and expecting is pressure I don't need! We have a 2 year old and I'm 39 so I know everyone is expecting something soon. It is our decision and I hate feeling like we are letting them down since TTC #2 has been difficult.
Blah!

I am almost 30, and yes we just bought a house, a bigger vehicle, been married 1.5 years, blah blah blah. I have actually told someone " my uterus is fine, how is yours!?!?" And " well according to the tampoon in my vagina, no I am not pregnant."
It is so hard. It is the first thing on our minds, we don't need reminders or pressure. We just started, and I truly feel for those of you who have been /did try for months.

I feel you! We got married in May and I have definitely gained some marriage bliss weight, and people are asking all the time, OR pretty much assuming I'm already pregnant & just can't announce yet! At least we haven't started TTC yet; otherwise I feel like it is really awkward.

Ugh that is so frustrating. I had a coworker who was constantly making jokes about it and implying I am pregnant or saying I should be soon. I angrily told him to stop it and he finally did.

People think they're being cute. They don't realize that not everyone gets pregnant on the first, second or even third try. They don't get that asking that can be a source of pain for some people.

Gah, this is so frustrating! I have the same issues. I've started saying 'Apparently it's harder than it looks on 16 and pregnant' - that usually shuts people up. I was just complaining to a friend how completely ridiculous it is that some people think it's acceptable to ask others about the state of their uterus.

This was by far the most frustrating part of our TTC journey. I don't know when it became acceptable to ask about something so incredibly personal. I used to just do my best to smile and tell them "No...I am not, but thank you for asking." Then I would run into the bathroom and bawl my eyes out. Not healthy, but it helped me not lash out at them.

@MrsScottish: YES! So, we've been married for a little over 1.5yrs, and just started TTC. No one knows we're trying except for the bee. It's our first month, and just yesterday a girl at work said, "you need to get pregnant." Um, I'm trying! But, can't tell her that lol.

You just cut them off at the first question (Are you pregnant yet?) and, with a huge smile, say, "No! Are you???" It's not outright rude and people will get the message very quickly.

Holy crap! Going to loose my mind!
I have kept our ttc path under wraps to most people IRL because I dont want that added pressure of people wondering and knowing. Everyone at work has been harassing me for the last 1.5 years (since we got married) with constant- you pregnant yet? how come? why not? oh you are sick, you must be pregnant. You I see a bump- nope I am just fat thanks though! It drove me crazy before, but now that we are actually ttc it is stressing me out!

I had to admit to a close co-worker that we were ttc yesterday because she was pressuring me to take a new hot yoga class with her (it was a sign up for 10 weeks of classes, once a week). I kept coming up with different excuses (at least 5) and she kept hammering so I finally said, I cant because if I by chance get pregnant quickly I cant go.

When I told DH that I told her, he was like "oh now everyone is going to be asking you even more!!!" At lunch today, 2 other young women were talking about schools to sent future potential kids, I chirped in with my 2 cents on what our plan is- and everyone turned and said, well is that an announcement?!?!? I got mad, and said, nope, but thanks! I then left. If I dont already feel pressure for it to happen, they are making it x10 worse!! If I wear a shirt that is a bit tight, oh she has a bump! arg....

vent over...... I am not doing well on this ttc journey and we just started!!! How do you ladies deal with this!!! I work in a school with 23 other women and one male, this is a constant issue! I just seem to be next in line so they are all anxiously waiting!!!
