It usually involves some sort of kicking or screaming and a general loss of control. And they usually last a lot longer. When my son fusses, he'll maybe stomp his feet and say "no!" and cry for a little bit. But after a few minutes, I can usually redirect him or talk him through his feelings. But when he tantrums...oh man. It's almost impossible to talk him out of anything. We just let him get the tantrum out of his system and ignore it. He hasn't had very many tantrums thus far (maybe 10 total?).
