DH takes poop diapers straight out to the trashcan outside. I'm more lazy and I set them on top of the chest freezer in the garage (because it's right by the door). Then DH will throw them out for me. lol

We only have one LO at the moment, but my husband does the same thing with the diapers. I'm convinced that it's his natural flightiness inherited from his parents. I have to constantly remind him to clean up the diapers. Otherwise, we use a Diaper genie for the dipes.

We use the Dekor as well and I threw an arm and hammer smell sucking tablet thingy in the bottom to help. What usually ends up happening is that we change the bag more often. We use just regular kitchen garbage bags rather than the refills since it's cheaper.

@looch: I was honestly tempted to do that today! But trying to avoid the passive aggressive route on this one

@swurlygurl: Ha! I wish my husband was a little more like that. I don't think he's ever gotten pissed enough to do any sort of housework. He helps out, but usually at my request, not out of his own motivation

@hellobeeboston: It's so frustrating! I guess I'm just going to have to start using our Dekor again. It still was smelly but not. As bad as this!

@Amelieisme: ugh! My husband does the same thing!! So annoying, but we don't have a trash barrel in there anymore so I need to get something. We don't let the diapers stay in the house too long, we usually bag and bring them out right away! If we have another LO ill get a fancy diaper pail.

We reuse all the plastic bags we get at the store. I'll pile in a few wet ones then throw the bag in the outside trash. If it's a particularly bad #2, it goes out right away. :)

@Amelieisme: I bet he wouldn't be forgetful if he all of a sudden saw dirty diapers on his pillow at night!

I appreciate the effort, but when my husband does stuff like this, I have to remind him that his help creates extra work for me!

Haha, I have to laugh because this is my problem. We CD, and are supposed to put the diapers in a wet bag. I usually just start stacking them on top of the washing machine until DH gets pissed off enough to deal with them himself. So, from the perspective of the forgetful spouse - I apologize!!! :)

@autumnlove: @MsLipGloss: I would Never be able to get him to flush solids. He won't even wrap the diapers up... It's not malicious. He is just super forgetful.

@hilsy85: I bought some bags today to see if I can get him to tie it in a bag at least. What I always do is wrap it well. Lay it on a surface close to the stairs and take it when I go downstairs, which is usually right after putting him to bed or changing him. I don't get why that's hard?

@looch: We actually have one downstairs too. A pack n play which is set up to be a changing station. He will leave them there too, but he does a lot of changes in his room since he is usually about to put LO to bed.

We haven't started solids yet (I need to get on that...) so I just have a regular cheap-o white plastic garbage can. We have t really had any issues so far with stink (EBF), but I think I need to get a plan in place pretty quick!

We have a Diaper Genie and at home all dipes go in there, DH is responsible for taking it out. At work I throw the pee ones in a small trashcan I take out everyday and walk poops out to the dumpster right away.

Pee diapers go in the diaper pail, poo diapers go into plastic bags (like grocery bags) and down our garbage chute (we live in an apt building). I am sometimes guilty of letting a poop diaper (in a bag) hang on the door handle for a little bit! :(

We use disposables/cloth. Even if it's a disposable, we dump the poop in the toilet (unless it's super runny) and then put it in the diaper genie. Sometimes we'll put it in the trash if we know we're going to be taking out the garbage that day.

I would not be happy if DH left the diapers like that!

I flush solid logs and then I put the diapers in the Diaper Genie. Runny poop goes in the Genie right away. We don't use disposables FT so I only change it about 1-2 a month with no smell issues...at least I think it doesn't smell! :P

I have an ongoing issue regarding diaper disposal with DH. We used to use the diaper dekor, but once LO started solids, it really started stinking. So we decided to just carry the diapers (downstairs) to the garage trash can. BUT DH hardly ever does it which means I walk into LO's room and there are diapers piled up. The problem had been exacerbated by the birth of LO2 and that many more diapers. Plus, DH is doing more of LO1's diaper changes. The picture below was this morning. So what is YOUR system (especially those with toddlers). Do you have trouble getting DH to comply?
