When I did purees I would mix it up, sometimes feed her seperate things and sometimes mix them.

Now that she's onto finger foods I give her lots of things together, just depending on what we're eating. Tonight I had chicken tacos on a soft shell so I gave her some chicken and some of the tortilla together.

Baby led weaning! We just gave her food from our meals and let her eat it herself. We steamed crunchy food like apples and carrots for her (because it's hard to chew with no molars) and waited to a year for uncultured dairy and wheat.

She loves spicy food.

@chopsuey119: Bread, cheese, and creamy sauces are out because of LO's allergy! :( Yeah, she loves fruit...Sometimes I want to make kimchi bokkeumbap, then turn it into jook, and feed it to her like a real Korean. LOL.

@Rubies: M loves little pieces of bread, I started giving her cheese and creamy pastas, hard boiled egg white and yolk, you can try pieces of fresh fruit.. melons, peaches, whatever's in season that a 9 month old is okay to eat. AVOCADOS! M loves them and they're healthy. Blueberries?

I started off giving her one type of puree. Then I started mixing and making food chunkier.
Now I'll just cut things up and let her feed herself. She'll usually get at least 4 things for dinner. Sometimes she gets as many as 7!

When she ate purees, I always mixed everything together. Once she went on finger/table foods, then everything was separate unless it should be mixed, like fried rice.

I usually make things separately and freeze them that way. I'll thaw them and mix before I feed them to LO. Today, he had Sweet Potatoes with pears for lunch!

When LO started solids and up until this week, I used to give her one thing at a time during her meals. Like, I would feed her a serving of rice porridge, then a serving of steamed sweet potato, then a serving of pureed pears - every thing was separate.

Then last night I made barley porridge with chicken, zucchini, and carrot together and I totally felt like a rock star.

How kinds of "meals" of solids do you make? Or, do you still do things separately?
