In the dark, with no sounds. That was true before DH too. I'm quick to fall asleep though--it usually takes between 3 and 10 minutes.

I used to like quiet to fall asleep, but since getting married I prefer the TV. DH snores so if he's asleep before me, the TV is necessary.

We tried a noise machine but it didn't work the same.

We have a fan on but that's it. I usually try to focus on my breathing if my mind is racing and if I still can't fall asleep, I'll put some "stress away" essential oil on my wrists and neck and am out very quickly

@ineebee: hahaha @ your request to have your DH tell you about work and you're out!

I need it to be quiet and pitch black. But if I'm really tired, I'll fall asleep anywhere, anyway.

It used to be hard to sleep next to DH because I need to switch positions a lot before falling asleep, but he loves to cuddle and hold hands. So I got used to it and we fall asleep holding hands in silence. Sometimes when I can't sleep, I ask him to tell me about work and I'm OUT COLD in less than a minute sometimes. :) :)

I've always been the same way. When he's not home, I need the sound of the tv to fall asleep or else the quiet feels too creepy ;)

Always with the tv on. DH and I never go to bed at the same time. If we did, I wouldn't need the tv. I get scared of the dark/silence if I am alone so the tv is vital for me.

I used to always have to have the TV on a sleep timer in order to fall asleep. Either that or read a book (I'd be out in 10 min!)... but anytime I'd try to fall asleep with just the lights turned off, my mind would race and I could never fall asleep right away.

Since living together/getting married and having DH next to me, I've gotten accustomed to falling asleep with everything turned off. But I occasionally will watch tv or read a book to help fall asleep.

What about you?
