I live in Ireland, there's baby food absolutely everywhere in London, and all throughout the british Isles! There'll be a tesco express in the airport, you can get all sorts of pouches. Ella's Kitchen, Heinz, Organix, Annabel Karmel, Hipp Organic to name but a few.

Here's a link to get an idea of price - http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/search/default.aspx?searchBox=baby+foods&sc_cmp=tescohp_sws-1_baby+foods

Enjoy the trip!

Ella's Kitchen purée pouches are abundant in London, just pop into Tesco and get some. I would save the room in your luggage for other things!

Most luggage compartments are pressurized; if you double bag them, they should be ok, if you want to bring them along!

There is a brand called nuturme it is powdered veggies which you add water to in order to make it a purée. Goes through security just fine and isn't a lot of bulk. We. Used to order it in bulk from amazon

Thanks for all the info! I think maybe we'll bring enough for at least London... I don't want to worry about running around trying to find suitable baby food. In Romania, we'll have local family to help out and perhaps even just buy things we can make there. I am also figuring we can do avocado and banana since those don't need to be cooked, just mashed up.

I got a handheld food mill as a gift, which is supposed to be good for grinding stuff up when you're at a restaurant, so I assume it would be good for travel.

I put a bunch in my carry-on luggage, mainly because they wouldn't fit anywhere else and I didn't want to waste them - babies got a hefty carry-on allowance on my airline (KLM), so I wasn't hassled with the weight or the fact that it was food.

I traveled abroad for 2 weeks when LO was 9 months old. I brought enough puree pouches for the entire trip - although they did sell them, they were much more expensive and I didn't wanna stress about looking for them. None of them burst in my bag, although I was worried about it and put them in several plastic bags.

I'm sure you can find puree in both places, but there might not be a lot of variety in Romania if your baby is picky about flavors.

Do you make or buy the food? If you make it can you just take whatever you use to puree with you and make it there? I know a a bunch of people who just use the handheld pureers and take those with them when they travel. You can get them for super cheap too!

I'm pretty sure that you can easily get baby food while you're there. That said, I have traveled with those pouches before and they went with my checked bags with no problems.

I would bring pouches, but only because i get paranoid and don't want to stress about finding places to buy food. I traveled to Cuba and none of my pouches burst. :)

We are flying to Europe in a few weeks and LO is on purees now. We were thinking of bringing puree pouches for the plane ride.

Should we try to bring enough for the entire trip? We'll be gone for 3 weeks. Or should we try to buy things there (we'll be in England and Romania)?

Will the puree pouches burst if I put them in my checked baggage? I'm worried about the air pressure changes on them.
