I bring my baby into bed with me in the mornings to sleep. I keep the blankets and pillows away from her, and I also know that she doesn't move much yet in her sleep (she's still swaddled). I don't ever have her nap unsupervised in the bed though.

We bed share at night and my lo naps on our bed on her own during the day. She is definitely not going anywhere.

Wagon Jr. took many a nap during his newborn days on the bed next to me, propped up in his Boppy. This is all kinds of no-no when it comes to baby sleep safety, but I was right next to him and supervising the whole time, so I didn't feel unsafe doing it at all. I would doze off every now and then, but I'm a super light sleeper so I'd wake up every few minutes and open one eye to check on him. Obviously until they can roll over they're pretty safe as long as there's no big fluffy stuff around them.

So if they have supervision or if it's just a flat surface (no pillows / fluffy comforters, etc) around them I would feel fine. Especially if it's just a nap and not night sleep.

I would worry about the comforters and any pillows on the bed and I would also worry about the lack of guard rails. Even though she can't roll over I just wouldn't be comfortable with the risk.

My mom watched LO this morning, and mentioned that she layed her in the spare bed to nap because she wouldn't sleep in her pack and play. She's 12 weeks old, and isn't rolling over yet, but I'm still not entirely comfortable with it. There's so much stuff out there now about where babies should and shouldn't sleep, and it's easy to worry. I will be the first to admit that I'm naturally a worrier anyways ,so how do you feel about babies sleeping on an adult matress?
