There are a lot of mentally ill people out there that fit the profile of these mass shooters. But there's no way to tell who will go on to commit such violence and who won't. Are we supposed to put them all on watch? I don't know. I don't know a lot about the laws surrounding this, but I think psychiatrists have an obligation to bring to light if a patient has threatened to harm themselves or others?</p> <p>But ultimately, I think it's unfair to sue the psychiatrist for the actions of her patient.
