@winniebee: I bring a ice pack in a bottle cooler bag. Then leave the bottles and RTF formula bottles separately. For the first bottle I just give it to her at room temp. Then put the RTF bottle back in the bottle cooler. Afterwards if we're at a restaurant I'll ask for hot water. If not if we're near a bathroom run under hot tap. Yesterday we were in the car so I just gave it to her cold. She def noticed it because she gave a funny face at first but then drank it. :P

I did what Mrs. Wagon did, because we fed our son his formula body temperature. I never premixed a huge batch and stored it in the fridge, it always separated and I was concerned I wouldn't get it mixed correctly again later.

I pack bottles with boiled water in them and formula inside a Avent dispenser. When she's hungry, I just empty it in. The dispenser has 3 partitions that I fill with however much formula she's eating at her stage. The dispenser is OK: it's bulky and sometimes the powder from the other partition leaks into the one I'm using, but overall it's better than taking the whole tin. I'm planning on buying a better dispenser that's less bulky and holds more. I think Zo-Li makes it.

I use these formula dispensers (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10978302&cagpspn=pla&pla=plab) filled with the # of ounces we need and then fill up the bottles with water. DD takes her bottles at room temperature so its great. I just pour the formula in, shake it up, and its good to go. Sometimes I wait a few minutes to let the bubbles go away but she's never really had a gas issue

I have one of these that I got on clearance at Target...
http://www.amazon.com/Thermos-Insulated-Bottle-Carrier-Tripoli/dp/B00849L4NG/ref=as_li_tf_sw?linkCode=wsw&tag=crablo07-20

so I make one or two bottles depending on how long I'm out and put a couple of ice packs in it. My LO will drink straight out of the fridge though... I also keep one of those divided containers with formula and a water bottle with me as an emergency supply. I've tried just using plastic bags but it's always been a disaster when I try to pour it into the container!

I used to carry a formula dispenser filled with single servings of powdered formula and a thermos of warm water. I used playtex drop-ins, otherwise i would have just pre-filled the bottles with the warm water. This all got much easier when he finally would take cold formula! Then I just needed the formula dispenser and the bottle, and use water from anywhere.

I put pre-measured formula into the baby bottle, and then take a Nalgene of tap water with me in the diaper bag. When DS is hungry, I pour in the right amount of water using a collapsible measuring cup and shake. It's more convenient for us this way, since then DD can drink out of the same Nalgene when she gets thirsty.

We have the (AWESOME) Tommee Tippee bottles, and they have these formula canisters that sit inside them. So you pre-measure your powder into the canisters, and then we fill the bottle part way with pre-boiled and cooled tap water. Then we fill a thermos with hot water, top up the water level (so the bottle is warm) and add the formula and shake! Our Meme won't take a bottle at room temp.

The only times I have fed exclusively formula while out was in the first month and i still had the ready mixed liquid formula from the hospital. They are so convenient!
Anyway now I just add a little formula to her bottle of breastmilk at home and then keep it in a cooler with ice packs. Then just heat it up with a warmer where ever we are.

Used to just premeasure the formula powder into the bottle, and then add bottled water and shake. But we were having to carry around too many bottles that way. Now I just take one empty bottle and a bottle of water and use the Similac on-the-go powder packets. The powder tubes aren't that much more expensive for all the oftener we use them, and how easy they are.

This is definitely a reason to avoid bottle warmers. If you do feed LO while you are on the go, it's so helpful if they will take a cool or room temp bottle.

Like other PPs, we fill the bottles with water and have a formula dispenser with the powder already measured. It's really handy. I have the Avent one and each of the 3 compartments will hold 4 scoops of powder to make 8 ounces.of formula.

my sister in law always just carried two bottles already filled with water in her diaper bag, and then a formula dispenser with the formula already measured out. my nephew ate a room temperature bottle just fine, so she would just pour in the formula, shake, and give it to him.

this isn't the one she had, but this is what i am referring to: http://www.target.com/p/munchkin-formula-dispenser/-/A-13991505

I have one of those pre-measured containers. I will put the water in the bottles and measure out the formula into the container before I leave home and then I combine and mix when she gets hungry. If you hate clumps, carry around a few wrapped straws from fast food places and you can use them to stir on the go.

It's one of these, I have 3 of them, plus you can use them for snacks too.

If we're going to be out and LO will need to eat within about 1 hour of leaving the house, I make a bottle of formula and bring it. If we are going to be out for several hours and LO won't need to eat until like 2 hours after we left the house I bring an empty bottle and an 8oz bottle of the ready-made formula. They also sell single serving size of powder formula but I don't to shake the formula up and then give it to LO (gas issues), and I also hate any clumps in the formula, so we use the premade formula most often.

I don't have any children yet, but when I was out and about with a friend of mine, she ended up buying some water (I think we were at Walmart...?) and preparing the bottle in the store. I think she might've gone into the bathroom and ran the bottle under warm/hot water in order to heat it up a bit? I'm not positive on that part though because I hung out with her daughter while she was in the bathroom.

@winniebee- when we were doing formula for M, I would take bottles of water with me and baggies of formula. I would add the formula to the bottle when she got hungry. Easy peasy! :) Totally easier than breastmilk or breastfeeding, imo (just because she's not a calm breastfeeder). :)
