@aprild: for the 21 day challenge I used Michi's ladder and only ate from the top 2 tiers
http://www.teambeachbody.com/eat-smart/michis-ladder

This time I am doing a program and it comes with containers you use to measure out your food - based on you goals it tells you how many of each to eat per day

yes what kemma said! Think about tucking your tailbone under you slightly when you stand and drawing in your lower abs. Envision a string pulling you up from the top of your head.
Your lower abs (well, the abs in general) are shot after carrying baby. All of the above nutrition stuff is right on target, if its belly fat, which is where some people just carry junk, then diet/ exercise will work on that. But that poochy belly can also be your lower abdominals not firing during normal every day activity. Google "transverse abdominal exercises" for some good ab ideas. Its good to think of this as sort of a multi faceted thing: diet, exercise, abdominal strength/posture
however first make sure you don't have diastisis recti. many ab exercises can actually make it worse if you have a separation.

also, with regards to the jeans fitting. Your pelvis may be wider than before. It certainly narrows after birth, however the upper bones sometimes remain wider than before.

(i'm a PT, btw)

If it's fat, you need to lose fat. Which means eating healthy and breaking a good sweat.

If it's not fat....it's probably skin. And it's only so elastic sometimes, heh.

It didn't start to go away for me until I got rid of mostly all processed foods, drank a lot of water and worked out 5x a week. Kickboxing is great for your core but it doesn't feel like you're working your abs. Oh and time! It took a lot of time to pass after having my babies.

@Mamaof2: Do you follow a special diet for eating clean? I've really tried to cut back on sugar and snacking, but I know I should probably do more.

@aprild: I have always heard that "abs are made in the kitchen"

so I would try eating really clean for a few weeks and see if that helps

eta: I did this before for 21 days and def saw an improvement - problem is I go back to eating like crap. I am eating clean for the 60 days and when I get to the 2 week mark I will post a pic - took my before pics on Monday

I had my baby almost 5 months ago, and today I saw a picture someone took of me where I was standing in the background, and I could see my belly pooch! I had no idea it was that noticeable.

I've lost most of the baby weight, but it seems like every part of me is slim except for my belly. I still can't fit into my pre-pregnancy pants, because I can't button them around the waist, although they fit my legs just fine. What can I do?
