@lepamplemousse: This is what I was kind of thinking. Our ped said today that she needs 15 hours of sleep per day. That doesn't seem like enough to me!

This is my DD exactly! She falls asleep so fast but wakes up time after time. The last two nights it's been after 1:00am! I think she is over tired but I can't quite figure out where the line is. Practice makes perfect I guess.

Is she relaxed when you start getting her ready for bed? We find that if we just walk around the house with DS in our arms for 10 or 15 min before bed, he relaxes and is easier to settle into sleep. You may want to try this if she's overtired.

I think with dd1 it took time. Around 10-12 weeks she naturally starter moving her bedtime earlier. Before that, 10pm was the norm.

She actually sounds overtired. Waking up so soon after she goes down is a sign of over tiredness. Newborns get tired fast. At that age we sometimes put my son down as early as 5:30pm.

No advice but you have my sympathy. When my LO was that age she slept for 30 minutes, woke up and cried for an hour (we would walk her around the neighborhood) and then went back to sleep for her longest stretch. We ended up sleep training at 16 weeks to help her get past that 30 minute wake up. I'm sure we could have done a better job with her naps but she wasn't really receptive to my attempts at scheduling.

I think around that age we were putting LO to bed pretty late, like 10. Then gradually moved bedtime earlier. Most newborns have a late bedtime since their longest stretch of sleep is usually at the beginning. If you let the baby sleep from 10-10:30-7, sounds like she would do fine.

Just like the title says! LO is 9 weeks (still so young, I know!) and just fights bedtime like none other. I try to find the sweet spot for just enough wake time during the day, but no matter what time we put her down (we've tried the range of about 7-9) she just fights going to sleep like crazy.

She sometimes falls asleep for 20 minutes or so, but then she wakes up and cries. It usually means DH or I end up in her room until ten-ish for what is supposed to be her dream feed. Any ideas? Or do we just need to wait it out until she's a little older?

Oh, and also she usually sleeps from 10:30/11 (after that last feed) until 7 with 1-2 wakeups...and I often have to wake her to feed her between 7 and 8. So I know she needs the sleep...she just doesn't want it at bedtime!
