There was one instance when all three of us were sick at the same time, we had a stomach virus. We just suffered through it, luckily I was the least affected and recovered quickly.

I used to just power through it, but if it was really bad, my husband would take a half day and relieve me in the afternoon.

Luckily this doesn't happen often for me because my parents and inlaws live close. Also if it's really bad and I can't get anyone DH will take off work. But I hate making him do that so it has to be bad bad bad. Now LO will watch tv so we will spend some time doing that, or like you said just go in a room and I'll lay while she plays.

Feel better!

Ugh, I pretty much just suck it up. :( DH has been able to work from home twice to help me out in these situations, but that's not always possible for us.

Do you have any friends you can call over for a an hour or two?

If I have a cold then I suffer through the day and carry on as normal. My boss and I don't really have a back up sitter. There was one time I got a horrific stomache bug. Oh gosh, it was awful! It just happened to be on the one day my boss HAD to stay late. I mostly kept E in her playpen while I laid in bed/ on bathroom floor. By 5 pm I had her ask a friend come over to take care of us. It was on that day I decided to never have children. J/k!

@MamaMoose: haha, I REALLY thought about doing that, but I decided against it because I didn't want to get anyone at the daycare sick AND I hate pumping more than I hate nursing and I would've had to do that to cover the bottles, so I just sucked it up, haha.

I have no advice! I'm JUST getting over a terrible cold and taking care of Xander was soooooo hard! Especially having to get up at 4:00 a.m. to nurse him! I was just lucky (haha, this is mean that I find it lucky) that my husband was ALSO sick, so we both stayed home from work and could tag-team the baby!

Ugh :( I've been sick since last Thursday and luckily most days I've been able to have help. Today is the first day I've been solo and I'm dragging too. Blah. Do you have a pack n play? My MIL suggested setting it up and putting some special toys in it that he doesn't get to play with very often so it feels exciting. Maybe it would buy you a little bit of time? I hope you feel better soon!

Particularly if you don't have someone you can call up to babysit?

I feel so crappy today. We don't have a regular babysitter and my ILs are out of town. I napped during his first nap but he's just go go go today and I can barely keeps head up.

My DH has definitely taken a half or full sick-day for me before, but Mondays are really bad days for it, especially during the summer. He won't be home until around 1am :(

I ended closing the door to the nursery and letting E play on the floor while I dozed on the futon in there--got half an hour of very light off and on sleep (E could reach me and likes to pull my hair...).

How do you handle feeling like poo when you're alone with LO?
