Definitely worried about this for LO 2 when baby arrives.

LO 1 was 16 months and not too naughty when LO 2 arrived. LO will be almost 2.5 when baby arrives....eeek.

Would a reward chart work? I used that for my niece and nephew when they lived with me. Once it got filled up for the week for good behavior, they got to pick a small toy from my treasure chest. Maybe start the day with a color change option if she doesn't listen but if she is good again or does something nice later, you can move it back to green? Good luck to mama!

I'm sure it's not the best answer but since it has to be verbal I usually threaten to take away privileges (and mean it of course) - "if you don't XXX we can't do/have YYY. only helpers get YYY" - of course that only works if your toddler responds to that!

my mom likes to talk about how when my brother was little back in the days of corded phones, he would dash upstairs to unroll all the toilet paper and play in the toilet when he heard the phone ring and knew he was free!

This would also be applicable when you're busy doing just about anything, too!

I'm having trouble managing when my toddler is acting out, doing what she isn't supposed to be, or blatantly being fresh while I can't do anything about it (nursing baby, rocking baby, etc.) Today we were trying to get out of the house and I was packing diaper bag while nursing, and called for my toddler to come to me so I could give her socks to put on. She took off! and kept hiding from me. I couldn't pick her up so I was at her mercy. Eventually I had to put the baby down and let her scream while I dragged my toddler back to a chair to trap her long enough to get shoes on her.

I don't know that there's really even an easy answer for this? Haha..this too shall pass? :)
