@mrbee: when mine are bad enough to bleed, i just put superglue all along the separated skin, over the cut part. You cansqueeze the skin together but dont have to. It seems to work like that liquid bandage stuff and protect the cut while the skin heals. Once the cut is better, the soaking and pumice and all that are good to prevent...

Epsom salt. Soak them once a week or rub them every other shower. Once you soak them once, you'll adjust to how often you do it. They sell them in the medicine aisle at just about every store for a few bucks.

After soaking, wash with water (if the skin is all soft and hanging, use a pumice) then apply lotion.

It's cheap, wonderful stuff!

I only have problems in the summer when I wear lots of flip flops, so I've stopped wearing the rubber/synthetic shoes and it's not been a problem any more. You might want to see a podiatrist, it could be fungal.

It's super easy to take care of your feet with a pumice in the shower, just drop it on the floor and let it get soaked with water while you shower. Then scrub away, with a bit of shower gel or soap. When you get out of the shower, use a moisturizing balm, I like the one by Lotrimin.

Check out the selection of footcare items on soap.com. There are lots of things you can do.

@MamaCate: Woah that's amazing... how exactly do you determine what to glue though?

I dont know how bad your heels are, but when mine crack enough to bleed, i use superglue to hold the skin together and let it heal. I know it sounds crazy, but it has worked for ten years of living in hot, dry, dusty places and wearing sandals! As far a creams, i think anything super-mousturizig, like aquaphor etc would help.

I'm sure there are creams for cracked heels. I think the ones with AHA's are meant to work quite well but probably any attention will pay dividends. Charlie is a fierce critic!

I got a pedicure today because my feet were so busted, and my heels are much better now.

However, I showed them to Charlie, and he said, "Daddy feet have cracks." So I failed the Charlie test, again. There are still noticeable cracks in my heels, boohoo.

What do I have to do to fix this? Is there a product I can put on my heels to heal my dry heels? Do I have to actually take care of my foot skin every night?
