Like the other's say, I use wipes. But I'm in the camp where babies do need some germs to build their immune system so I try not to be too crazy about it.

You can use pacifier wipes they are food grade ingredients.

But you can also try using the fabric cart liners? right now LO is nearly 6 months so when we go shopping she is either in her carseat or in her carrier. I havent put her directly onto a cart yet

I wipe her hands with diaper wipes (I use babyganics) when we're out. At home I just wash with soap and water.

I buy organic or more "natural" wipes. I've used Seventh Gen, Earths Best and Honest Co. I don't have any shame using them on his hands :)

I will also just have him wash his hands in the sink like we do.

I took LO to Target and sat her in the cart (which I wiped down as much as possible) and she kept sticking her little fingers in the holes of the cart and then putting her hand in her mouth--blech...!
All I kept thinking was that "this is how baby's get sick." Add this to my friends baby catching roseola at their pediatricians office and my OCD is going into overdrive.

How do you keep your baby's hands clean when you're out in public?
Since she still sucks on her fingers, I don't like to use anything with chemicals, even though wipes would be the easiest thing to use. Any tips or suggestions from veteran moms?
