In the winter we used a space heater at a low setting to make sure it didn't get too cold in there. The setting sun beams right into his room. Even when I have it on low, the fan level cools the room down a bit. I also went through the house and messed with our vents a bit to help with the extreme temperature fluctuations in our third bedroom (it was like that - always the coldest or hottest.) I closed the vent in the hall right outside his room, and partially closed a couple of others in the rooms that were the largest and never gave us any temp issues.
