@MrsKMM: I'm glad! It really helps to have your boss know and be supportive about it :) And I totally agree - we see our bosses 5 days a week so I almost treat it as a separate thing!

@snowjewelz: I am 7w5d and caved and told my boss today. I thought of you lol I have been so sick and so miserable around the office, and there are only so many white lies I could tell before it became an issue. She was amazing about it. DH feels guilty that family didn't find out first, but I work far more than I see family so it's harder to hide. Oh well! :bummed: she did give a "so THAT'S why you've been so sick lately!"

We told my parents right away, but waited till after we saw heartbeat to tell his. It wasn't an issue since we don't see them regularly.

With work I ended up telling my boss by 8 weeks b/c I was felt so sick & miserable. I actually had to b/c he thought I was really upset at him or my job... But it actually helped so much that he knew b/c then he was super understanding & supportive for those weeks that I felt the worse!

Then ppl I see regularly started to figure it out too before 12 weeks; ppl constantly asked me if I was pregnant anyway, and I knew I didn't want to lie if asked point blank.

Your condition might determine whether you are able to hide it or not.

I told my sisters, who live out of town, early to have someone to talk to about it. Some local friends found out early because I was so sick (and not drinking). Once they knew, it didn't really bother me though.

We kept it off the radar of most of our family and friends who live out of town. Announced to all after the NT scan.

If I didn't work from home, I know it would have been impossible to hide from work because I was so sick.

@MrsKMM: It wasn't so much that I hid it for 6 months the first time - my bosses & HR knew, it was on facebook, but my belly wasn't big so it wasn't common knowledge.

I think the nausea will give me away this time. I started taking unisom to fight it but it isn't doing enough. I also travel with a plastic bag and snacks.

@MrsKMM: have you tried Psi bands? they didn't really work for me but it's worth a shot. they sell them at target, walmart, cvs, etc. wrist bands that put pressure on a certain spot - made for motion sickness but I was desperate to try anything. you could cover with your sleeves, too.

The first time, I told one of my friends as soon as I tested. In fact, I sent her the picture asking if I was crazy! So I got my talking/venting out through her and my husband before I told (which, I told my parents around 5 weeks anyway).

The second time, I also sent a picture to a friend. I was freeeeeeakkking out! I had her and my DH to talk with, and I told my parents around 5 weeks too I think.

@Corduroy: wow, you were able to hide it from coworkers until 6 months? I feel like the nausea is going to give it away for me! I work in a tiny office and there are never more than a couple of us there at a time. Vomiting is going to be really obvious!

With my first pregnancy I was able to keep it a secret from everyone except DH until 12 weeks. I didn't go public at the office until 6 months when I finally started showing.

This second pregnancy is sooo much harder to hide . I'm 8 weeks and four people at work know, as does one friend. Everyone is on to me. They know my tricks and my tells. Plus I'm looking pretty green around the office.

Mainly I've just been avoiding everyone we don't want to tell. I'm 8 weeks and just had my u/s yesterday so we don't have to keep it a secret much longer. DH wants to tell his parents when they come out for Christmas but that is forever away. We're trying to tell mine at Thanksgiving (12 weeks). My SIL is having a C-section in early Dec and I want to enjoy being pregnant together for a milisecond.

A close friend is ttc and called me to vent about it today. I feel really guilty that I'm pregnant and can't tell her yet. We haven't told anyone, and want parents to be the first to know after our 8w ultrasound next week. This weekend, we are having dinner with a bunch of friends, including the one who called me today.

In addition, all I've heard at work the past week is, "just wait till you're pregnant!" & "Did you know xyz about prenatal care?" & "When will you start trying?" Aaahhh! (I work with children and families, which doesn't help) The anxiety of holding in such a big secret, when it feels like the major topic of conversation whenever I go, is driving me crazy!

When did you tell friends? Your boss? Your coworkers? How did you keep it a secret until then? I keep telling myself that I can announce in a few more weeks...not helping though, lol plus I almost got sick in the office and with a client today, so I'm afraid it'll become obvious!
