We have a top latch on E's door. Otherwise we were worried she would roam the house and climb into T's crib. She stays in her room because she knows she can't get out and play games

How about tokens? Take three marbles or magnets or whatever and put them where LO can see them from bed. After each time getting up take one away. In the morning LO gets an M&M for each token still there.

Or colored tape on the floor. Green, yellow, red. Each time LO comes out the door closes more and when it gets to red the door gets locked or gated and you calmly ignore LO for the rest of the evening.

Both of these only work with some explanation up front so LO knows what is happening and I wouldn't expect to see results until a minimum of day three of consistency.

We've had a rough go of it the past week with getting our 3.5 yr old to bed. It's been constant battles of coming out of his room for this reason or that and ends up with us at our wits end and a whole lot of frustration. We've been doing consequences and taking things away and he gets upset when he loses something. Yet, when we are warning him and giving him his last chance, it's not working or motivating him to stay in bed. It just makes him upset.

Please share your bedtime strategies!!! I need some advice before I lose my mind!!!
