Door knob cover his side only worked until he turned about 3.5 and then he just understood the deal.

@DillonLion: That's reassuring!
@kiddosc: He used to be SUCH a good sleeper until 18 months and then screamed/tantrumed at bed time so we had to lay with him till he fell asleep. He's over the screaming part but now just doesn't want to stay in bed.
Shutting the door will probably be the easiest to do, If I hear him up I can go put him back to bed.

We put a door knob cover on the inside of his bedroom door and shut the door. If he woke up, then I'd hear him on the monitor and go to him. We never laid with him to go to sleep though, so he wasn't expecting us to be in the room.

LOL. We're on the same boat. DS keeps climbing out of his crib. So for now he is sleeping in our room with us in his pack n play, while we wait for his crib to toddler bed kit. Once that arrives back to his room he goes. Not looking forward to the crying that's to come. :bummed:

@DillonLion: How long does it take till she stays put?
I'm thinking we need to start doing that but our own sleep has been winning this fight, so he stays in bed with us but NOT ideal, especially with one on the way.
Maybe a long weekend would help...
@808love: lol, that's where we're at. ;)
@snowjewelz: We're pretty dang close to co-sleeping full time, lol.

I just keep taking her back to bed every time she gets out of it. Over time she learns that it isn't worth getting up and she just stays in her room. We go through phases where she will start trying it again, but we just try really hard to take her back each time and she quits.

At 18 months DS went through some separation anxiety and started bailing from the crib so we had to convert already, and now he's in our bed every night, as soon as he wakes up and realizes we're not in the room anymore -which is often before midnight.

How do you/did you keep your toddler in their bed all night? (or most of the night)
