@jetsa: oh man....ugh! I do think she'll sleep better after we've weaned, at least that's what I'm clinging to!

@Pirouette: lol. As I laid in bed awake from 3-5am with a child that acted as if he was starving I was like I'm ready to be done nursing but in the daylight everything's better ;)

@jetsa: ugh this is my life!! It's so frustrating... one step forward two steps back. I keep saying it'll soon be a distant memory when we're done nursing and I'll miss it. We'll see haha

@Pirouette: everytime we might wean something happens and we end up back there, I'm with ya it's horrible. And once we get on that path he refuses to not be fed when I go in and when I'm the only one home idk what to do but feed him.

@illumina: she wont take it from me and i'm solo during the week :( but we had actually night weaned, and then 2 quick colds and it's back! maybe when she's feeling better i can try again though or at least cut out the night nursing!

@Adira: I so hope so! she LOVES nursing but really doesn't comfort suck, so i feel like she'd let me know if she was coming up empty! but i wish you could know for sure (other than busting out a baby scale in the MOTN lol)

@Pirouette: Yes, I think she'd probably be having a bit of a fit at your breast if she felt the supply was lacking! And hopefully it was really just a one time fluke!

@Pirouette: Hmm, I think I would try giving a bottle last feed before bed and see if that helps.

@Mae: yea we're already watching her weight, so I just don't want her to be not getting enough from me! she's happy to nurse and loves nursing, so it's not like she's acting frustrated or anything. and she wakes up with a super full diaper every morning.

@jetsa: that makes sense! she's sooooo congested, and it's clearly keeping her up. I didn't think about its effect on how much she gets.

@illumina: haha i feel like it's ALWAYS a regression :crying: in her case, she's usually wide awake during regressions, with this she's like trying so hard to sleep but is too hungry to do so.

@Adira: ok cool, thanks! i mean, she'd probably complain if there wasn't enough supply, right? not just try to settle down and then immediately ask for more? (if this goes on for a couple of weeks, i'm going to have to have my head reevaluated for putting up with it, not just her sleep, lol!) :silly:

I agree with the others. It's probably the cold, a growth spurt, or the 9 month regression (or a combo of the two). If she's still doing it once she's over the cold and it's been a couple weeks, then reevaluate, but I suspect you're probably fine!

I wasn't BF-ing at that age, so also take my advice with a pinch of salt, but my guess would be the 9mth regression...increased wakings, restless sleep etc. Sorry mama :(

I'd say it's the cold. It's hard to BF with a stuffy nose, so she's probably inefficient because of it.

My LO is younger than yours, and I'm a BF dropout so take my advice with a grain of salt. But I'd think first that it is either the cold or a growth spurt (or maybe even a wonder week leading to seeking additional comfort). If she isn't cranky/crying and is having normal wet diapers, I wouldn't worry about supply short-term. Long term I'd just watch her weight.

I'm down to pumping once a day at work and don't get much at all (3-4 ounces). i'm nursing morning and night and for MOTN wakings (usually 1 or 2). she loves nursing and tends to reverse cycle a bit.

last night, she woke up ravenous around midnight, nursed, went back down for a few minutes but started kicking her leg (she does this when she's hungry) and then she ate for a full feeding again. then she went to sleep for an hour or so and then did it again! then she finally went back to sleep till morning. I've never seen her wake up so much to feed in such a short time frame (3x in an hour?) - she does have a cold, so that could be it (comfort?) but i was wondering if she's just not getting enough because my supply has dropped.

Does this sound like low supply? Do i need to start giving a bottle at night? or is this just her seeking comfort to go back to sleep because she has a cold? She's 9 months, so you'd think i'd understand breastfeeding by now, but apparently i dont haha.
