Our doctor told us LO was teething at 4 months (she saw the tooth slits). Well shes 6 month and she is still teething, no tooth has popped up yet. DH is with her and he said she is very fussy and clingy and I told him to give her some tylenol but he is too scared to.

We thought she was for sure, even gave her teething tablets, but the DR just told me she wasn't. So, I'm at a loss for all her fussiness and wakefulness, other than maybe just the 19th wonder week.

LO is 7 months today, and I could have sworn he was teething around 4 months, but his 1st tooth just popped through yesterday. He drooled excessively and chewed on everything in site for about 3 months, and then just last week I noticed his gums were red + swollen. A day later I noticed a tiny break in the gum line, followed by seeing the actual tooth underneath the surface. It took about a week for his tooth to break through the gum line all the way. Now, he's working on cutting his 2nd tooth as we speak.

LO did all of those things for months before any teeth showed up! For probably 5 months I blamed everything on teething, but no teeth came in until he was almost 10 months! So I have no advice. Lol. I didn't know for sure he was teething until a tooth starting coming up!

I don't know!! LO has bumps in her gums, fusses and tries frantically to get her fingers or hits her face sometimes. But this has been going on awhile and still no teeth, so I'm not sure!

@littlek: I didn't even think if that as a sign! All day even though he's hungry he's been crying through his feedings and pulling off a lot. I was wondering what the heck was wrong! That makes sense.

I would say low grade fever and flushed cheeks, along with swollen/puffy gums...LO drools all the time but I don't necessarily think he's teething.

I realized B was teething when I would try and breastfeed him and he would throw back his head in pain and would not latch on again. Other signs are excessive drooling. If you look in their mouth their gums will be red/swollen and when you feel the gums you can usually feel the tooth that is breaking the skin.

I gave M Tylenol today because I think she's teething too. Constant drool, chewing on her hands and paci, low grade fever, and sucking her bottom lip. I'm going to look into natural remedies tonight. I still don't know for sure but the signs seem to imply it.

I'm interested in this too. Baby Ninja is drooling a lot too, and at 4.5 mo, I'm sure the teeth are coming soon.

I did a lot of guessing, and I used Camilia (by Boiron) as a homeopathic remedy. That way if she wasn't really teething, I wasn't medicating her for nothing! lol!

I've suspected E has been teething for awhile. The amount of drool is unreal and he always has a hand (or two!) in his mouth so he can chew on the fingers. Today he has been extremely fussy even though he's been fed, gotten his normal naps, etc. He's just clingy and cranky.

How do I know if it's teething or not? I don't want to give him baby tylenol if it's not teething but if it is I'd like to give him some relief if I can. I think I'll give him teething tablets anyway but I was still just wondering..
