@travelgirl1: just wanted to say boo on the thrush, is it oral and are you being treated if it is?! Thrush sucks so I feel your pain!

A's behaviour could be the start of teething, has she had red cheeks at all? I can usually tell when my A is teething as her latch and nursing habits change due to what I guess is sore gums. I had reasonable success with nursing if I shoved a boob in as soon as she woke up from a nap or I dangle or side nursed.

Hang in there!

I have no idea. E just got his first tooth at 10 months but he's been drooling like mad and gnawing on toys for as long as I can remember. There were even times his gums looked inflamed and we were sure he was getting a tooth. His actual tooth poked through without any fanfare, he was his normal self and I just felt when he was sucking on my knuckle one day.

@winniebee: ha we've been like that since she was born: she's drooling, fingers in her mouth, must be teething!

@brownie: I think I will, thank you :)

@hilsy85: oh gosh that's a good point about the gel! I'll check her gums when she wakes up. I might stop the thrush meds for A day or two then try again on Monday and see if the same thing happens.... She is just acting very unlike herself, she only really cries at bedtime so this is rather odd. How's the sleep training going BTW? Were you doing that this week or did I imagine it (totally possible with my current mummy brain, lol) ?

Dreamfeed. I also found when nursing was rough that it was easier to do it when they were sleepy/ing.

When the tooth comes in!

No, seriously. My LO was super drooly and chewed on everything since 4 months. He didn't get his first tooth til almost 8 months and at least 20 times in those 4 months I was "sure" a tooth was coming in. His fussy behavior doesn't seem to correlate to when teeth have come in (he has 3 now).

Could be a lot of different things, unfortunately! Teething is an ongoing process, so it could be that...do her gums look inflamed? I would be more inclined to guess the thrush meds or a wonder week (the one from wk15-21 is a doozy!). Can't hurt to try a cold teether and see how she reacts!

Also, just FYI my pedi recommended against teething gel like orajel because it can numb their throat and tongue. Not sure if you meant another type/if your pedi recommended it particularly, just thought I would throw that out there :)

A (19 weeks) is very crabby today, which is super unlike her. She's been rejecting milk a lot lately but comfort nursing a ton at night. She seems to want stuff in her mouth like crazy but gets annoyed with it quickly, maybe because milk doesn't come out of it? Or it doesn't soothe her? She also has some diaper rash today.

BUT, she also had her 4 month shots on Tuesday and started some drops to treat thrush yesterday, which can cause an upset tummy.

She just went to sleep with a soother which is very unlike her, she usually spits them out.

What would you put this down to if you were me? Should I nip out and get a teething ring and teething gel? Dreamfeed her now she's asleep?
