That would really upset me. Your daycare workers should be following your schedule, not doing things that they think they should be doing. I would definitely have a chat with them today to make sure they know not to change anything until you say it's okay.

At 6 months, she was on one solid a day.
At 8 months, she was on two solids a day - one at daycare.
At 9 months, she was on three solids a day - two at daycare.
At 10.5 months, she was on three solids a day plus snack. Breakfast, lunch and snack are at daycare.

That would make me angry. No one but parents should have the right to make that decision. As for feeding, at each meal we've always let her eat until she's done. At that age she was always getting solids after BM. We would offer them at our convenience, basically. Sometimes that was every meal, sometimes only once a day, sometimes none. It wasn't until about 8.5-9 months that she consistently ate more than 2 oz of solids all day.

Breastmilk should still be what's making up MOST of your lo's diet through the first year... on kellymom she references ~75% at 12 months so it's pretty gradual of an increase in the first year. We actually delayed solids until after 9 months, so as long as your baby is growing & you're keeping up with demand they aren't really "needed" at this point.

I would be fuming mad if my child's daycare provider took it upon themselves to do that!

Kellymom has some good posts on solids & breastfed babies/toddlers: http://kellymom.com/category/nutrition/starting-solids/

We started giving LO purees once a day at around 5.5 months. He was having 3 bottles of BM a day at daycare with one serving of 4 oz of pureed veggies or fruit after the 1st bottle. Today when I looked at the daycare sheet I noticed that they fed him solids 3 times today. I'm annoyed that they gave him more food without consulting with me first but that's another story. The main care provider that gave him the extra food had already left for the day so I'll have to talk to her tomorrow.

My question is, how do you know when to increase the number of solid meals per day? LO is 7.5 months now.
