I don't want to be exactly the same, but I definitely would like to follow in their footsteps. The older I get, the more like them, I become. </p> https://boards.hellobee.com/topic/how-do-you-measure-up-as-a-parent-to-your-own-parents#post-1707 Thu, 29 Sep 2011 18:00:05 +0000 mrbee 1707@https://boards.hellobee.com/ <p>My parents gave everything they had to their kids... my mom was a SAHM until I hit high school and my dad worked really hard to provide for us.</p> <p>Things were different back then... in some ways they were easier (expectations tended to be more clear due to gender roles), while in other ways they were harder (a lot of those expectations were pretty stifling!).</p> <p>Overall, my parents set a high bar and I am so so grateful. And I'm only more grateful now that I have a kid of my own!</p> <p>So, do I measure up to Mom and Dad as parents? Too soon to tell, haha I copped out of my own question! </p>
