We invited the whole street (about 10 houses). </p> <p>Is there a neighborhood listserv or group on a site like nextdoor.com? We were inside doing the inspection and I heard a buzzing sound outside. Went outside to see the inspector using a drone and two neighbor kids watching it. The girl is a year older than our daughter. M ended up going over to their house for a couple of hours. There's only one other young kid on our cul-de-sac, so we've met other young families by taking walks around the neighborhood, scoping out streets with lots of toddler toys outside! Also the neighborhood pool on the weekends. Luckily we're a block from the park and pool so a lot of people walk by.<br /> Our street holds an annual yard sale day. I was eyeing the kids playing in the front yard and the mom saw me and waved then came over to introduce herself and chat. Following along in hopes of good advice. </p> <p>My plan so far is to make sure to play a lot in the front yard, not just the back, and go for a lot of walks. Our neighborhood is fully side walked so I'll be able to push the baby in the stroller and let the toddler ride her balance bike or scooter. And I've been checking out what toys people have in their driveways- full size basketball hoop, probably big kids.
